10-Day Detox from Instagram + Threads
It's been less than 24 hours, and I'm glad I answered the call.
I deleted Instagram and Threads for the next 10 days.
I was sitting in my office, scrolling to distract myself from the frustration I was feeling about other things in life, and it made me feel worse.
I knew I needed to delete the apps. I answered the call and chose to move the energy out of my body instead of sitting in it and wasting my time scrolling.
Immediately after deleting the app:
I put on my sneakers, briefly rode my bike, went for a walk to the nearby park, got on a swing, and supported my daughter’s lemonade stand with her neighborhood friends.
It was a refreshing feeling to honor the call to remove the things in life that are fueling my frustrations. And I am certain that when I choose to move the energy into healthy habits that spark creativity and energize me, great things will continue to happen.

This isn’t my first time doing a social media detox. 10 days is on the shorter end of the digital detoxes I have done in the past.
I remember a time I disappeared from Instagram for about 10 months–maybe longer. I read many books during that season, listened to podcasts endlessly, danced, and journaled–all leading to reconnecting with myself on a deeper level.
. . .
Without scrolling and without constant stimulation and noise from the outside world, I’m looking forward to spending more time creating and hearing a clearer version of my voice.
Now, I’m on to Day 2 and curious to see what will happen throughout the next week and a half.
Are you staying on socials or taking a break?
I’d love to hear your experiences if you have taken time away from social media.
If so, how did you spend your time? What did you learn about yourself?
. . .
If you haven’t taken a social media break before, are you interested, or are you staying connected?
. . .
Leave a comment or Message me. I’m looking forward to hearing your insights!
I’m currently (as you know) taking a break from posting on my main page as a way to create more (creative) energy & space for myself and I am loving it so far. Not sure where this will take me or how I will end up using the platform but I’m excited to just trust and surrender 🥰
